August 2019 - WIA Walking Tour

In August WIA Vancouver is offering one of the AIBC’s Chinatown Architectural walking tours.

Learn about the history and distinctive architecture of this notable part of the local cityscape and Chinatown’s integral role in the development and transformation of the City of Vancouver. Visit retail, commercial and residential structures built by some of Vancouver’s founding merchants and hear stories of discovery, hardship and diversification. Stroll through market streets, taking in the sights and sounds of a vibrant Chinese community.

This tour ends at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden.

When: August 14, 2019 at 5:00 p.m.

Where: Inside the lobby of the Architecture Centre (AIBC), 440 Cambie St, Vancouver, BC V6B 2N5

Arrival Time: The tour will leave promptly at 5 p.m., please arrive by 4:45 p.m. to check-in as well as to record your AIBC ID # (if applicable) to ensure everyone is credited with LUs for taking the tour.

Tours operate rain or shine. Check the weather and dress appropriately. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

If the event is full at the time of your registration, you can join the waitlist. We will be able to refund your tickets prior to 24 hours before the event. Tickets are transferable.
