Join us on Thursday, Apr 22nd for an online seminar in resume & interview tips and tricks.

Are you a new grad who is taking their first steps towards a career in architectural design?

Are you an experienced foreign architect looking to re-establish yourself here in Canada?

Are you looking to take the next step to advance your career?

This seminar will include a short presentation on how to create a resume that attracts the employer’s attention, highlights your strength, and reflects your personality.

Speakers from both, large and small firms will share their insights on what interviewers are looking for, interview etiquette and more. There will also be a Q&A session to allow participants to ask specific questions to any of the speakers.

About the Speakers:

Gillian Poholka, HR Manager, Dialog

A Human Resources professional with more than 20 years experience, Gillian Poholka has been supporting People & Culture portfolios in the professional services sector as well as the telecom and retail industry, primarily at large, national organizations. Specializing in performance and leadership development, coaching, full-cycle recruitment, and strategy development, Gillian’s credentials span the full spectrum of the HR function. To say she is a fanatic of people development would be an understatement. Currently living her dream on the west coast, Gillian’s world revolves around managing DIALOG’s Vancouver studio as HR Manager and enjoying time with her spirited 8-year-old daughter, Madeline. When she’s not focused on developing people, you can find her meditating in Stanley Park or with her toes in the sand at Third Beach.

Cecilia Einaron, Senior Principal Architect, Stantec

As a Senior Principal Architect and the Airport Sector Leader for Buildings at Stantec, Cecilia oversees the Airports practice in North America and Internationally. Based in Vancouver, Cecilia is also in charge of managing the most complex Airport projects in Stantec leading multi-disciplinary teams.

In her 30 years of architectural practice Cecilia’s commitment to strong relationships with her clients and her teams has been key to the delivery of projects that include airports, residential, hotel, commercial/office, institutional, healthcare, and urban planning projects.

Sarah Bjornson, Partner, studioHuB architects

Sarah brings passion and creativity to every project, large or small. She brings a high level of experience to Institutional and Educational, Mixed-Use, Multi-Residential and Master Planning projects. Sarah’s strength is her creative design sensibility, her expert technical knowledge and her ability to co-ordinate effective consultant teams while delivering projects on time and budget. Sarah enjoys the challenges of multi-stakeholder client projects that demand a high level of user engagement and public consultation.

Annerieke van Hoek, Partner, studioHuB architects

A child of two educators, Annerieke is an exceptional listener with strong team management skills. She has valuable experience coordinating large design-build teams from competition through to design and construction. Her rational approach allows her to collaborate successfully with clients and contractors alike. She enjoys working closely with her clients to design spaces that enhance learning, play and social interaction.
